All sales are final. No refunds will be issued for any reason. This includes, but is not limited to, failure to schedule sessions within the contract framework, allowing the contract to expire after one year, choosing another provider, or student expulsion due to behavior

Yes. If you need to cancel or reschedule a behind-the-wheel driving lesson, you must log into your portal account and change it at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before a scheduled drive, late arrivals exceeding 5 minutes, or failing to present a valid physical hardcopy permit at the start of the lesson will incur a $50 fee. This fee must be paid before any remaining driving lessons can be scheduled.

Before starting your coursework, you must hit these two milestones:

• Be at least 15 years old.
• Obtain a Utah Learner's Permit by taking and passing the State Written Test at a DLD office (your closest branches are the Heber City or Salt Lake City locations).

The Waiting Period: Minors vs. Adults

Utah law handles permit holding times differently based on your age:

• Ages 15 to 17: You must hold your learner's permit for a minimum of 6 months before applying for a driver's license (this is mandatory, even if you turn 16 or 17 during that window).
• Age 18+: There is no 6-month waiting period required once you turn 18.

Pro-Tip for Course Timing: While the law allows you to begin your online course right at age 15, we highly recommend timing your coursework so you finish close to your license eligibility date. This keeps the information fresh for your final behind-the-wheel sessions!

Yes. You must hold a valid Utah Learner Permit before you can register for the online driver education course or schedule any behind-the-wheel lessons.

Park City High School offers zero in-person classroom options. The entire classroom and instructional portion is completed 100% online at your own pace through our approved digital platform.

Because our classroom curriculum is entirely online and asynchronous, you cannot "miss" a class session. However, you must complete all online modules and quizzes before you can move on to the practical driving phases.

Because the classroom portion is online, pacing depends partly on the student. However, when factoring in coursework completion, scheduling, and finishing behind-the-wheel training, the process traditionally takes about three months from start to finish.

Completing your coursework online gives you the immediate foundational knowledge (right-of-way laws, safety maneuvers, proper techniques) to practice safely and effectively during your required 40 hours of practice with your parents. It also frees up your regular school schedule by completely eliminating the need to take an elective class period during the school year.

Yes. All Park City High School driving instructors are fully certified and licensed by the State of Utah.

To be eligible for your Utah driver's license through PCHS, you must:

1. Obtain a valid Utah Learner Permit.

2. Complete and pass the 100% online classroom curriculum (including mandatory Railroad Safety and Air Pollution Mitigation modules).

3. Complete all required instructional behind-the-wheel drives and observation hours with a Park City High School instructor.

4. Pass your final road test.

5. Be at least 16 years of age and, if under 18, have held your permit for a minimum of 6 months.

Yes. You must fully complete and pass the online coursework modules and upload your completion certificates to the portal for administrator approval before you will be permitted to schedule your behind-the-wheel driving lessons.

Yes. You must possess a valid Utah Learner Permit to schedule and participate in any behind-the-wheel driving lessons. The online scheduling system will require you to have your permit information on file before you can book any driving slots with our instructors, and you must bring your physical permit with you to every scheduled drive.

Once your online coursework is fully completed, log into your student account on our driver education portal to view available times and book your driving slots.

If you need to change a scheduled drive, you must log into your account on our driver education website to cancel or reschedule. To avoid a penalty, this must be done at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations or no-shows occurring less than 24 hours before a scheduled lesson, or arriving without your physical hardcopy permit will result in a $50 fee, which must be paid in full before you can book any remaining behind-the-wheel appointments.

We do not offer home pick-up or drop-off services. All behind-the-wheel instructional drives start and end designated at Park City High School campus locations. 

Yes. In accordance with Utah state driver education standards, behind-the-wheel training operates on a cooperative model. While one student is actively driving and receiving instruction, two other registered students will be in the vehicle observing. This observation time is a valuable part of the learning process and is required to fulfill your total state instructional hours.

Behind-the-wheel lessons are scheduled individually by logging into your portal account, where you will see all available time slots. While you cannot submit a formal request to lock in a specific instructor for your entire training, you have the flexibility to select and book slots with your preferred instructor based on what aligns with their posted schedule and your availability.

Whenever possible based on scheduling availability, we attempt to keep you with the same instructor. However, lessons are scheduled individually online, and you may drive with different certified PCHS instructors depending on the times you choose.

No. You do not need personal auto insurance to drive our training vehicles. Students are fully covered by the Park City School District insurance policy while actively completing scheduled lessons with our instructors.

No. You are required to use a designated district vehicle for all behind-the-wheel lessons and your final road test. These vehicles are uniquely outfitted with instructor-side safety equipment and are fully covered under the district's insurance.

Yes. Each district training vehicle is equipped with a passenger-side instructor brake, a basic first aid kit, a fire extinguisher, a flashlight, and an emergency tool designed to break side windows and cut seat belts if necessary.

Behind-the-wheel lessons focus on safe vehicle operation. Students will practice changing directions, various types of parking, lane changes, managing speed limits in residential and business corridors, navigating intersections, proper merging, right-of-way rules, and establishing lifelong habits like checking mirrors and blind spots.
